Hey Toledo! I joined the Toledo News Now team in April of 2012 after working with FOX Toledo for a year.

Before I made my way BACK to Toledo, I was first at WHIZ-TV in 2008 and KCAU-TV out in Sioux City, Iowa in 2009. But way before that, I graduated from The University of Toledo in 2008. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Arts & Sciences from my major in Communication and concentration in Broadcasting. While at UT, I was very involved with the university's student run news program, ‘Rocket Report'. For 2 years there, I worked as a reporter and anchor for both news and sports and well, the rest is history! In my spare time in college, I was and still am- a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. ~Together Let Us Seek The Heights~

Whenever people ask me, "Have you always wanted to be a reporter?" I can say yes, but I actually owe it all to my family for pointing it out to me! While in middle school, I constantly informed my family of countless facts and stats I would hear on the news or in passing. The possibility of being a journalist was brought up to me and I haven't thought twice about it.

I grew up in the Dayton, OH area (Huber Heights) with my parents and older brother, so it's nice being so close to family. I am a HUGE Ohio State fan but there will forever and always be a place for the Rockets in my heart, T-O-L-E-D-O! When I'm not working, you can find me hanging out with friends and family. I love to cook, or at least try to, I really am getting better! I would have to say shopping and watching/playing/talking sports are some of my favorite things to do, as well as watching movies and decorating for holidays. I like to play an occasional video game and golf clubs are always in my trunk. On Saturday's you'll see me cheering on my Buckeyes and on Sunday's you'll see me cheering on my Buffalo Bills- "No one circles the wagon like the Buffalo Bills!" I'm a huge Sabres fan and I also can't seem to turn off the TV during the Olympics- Go USA!

I love being back in Toledo where my dreams to be a reporter started. The Glass City is a second home to me and I look forward to bringing you the news coverage you all deserve. If you ever have any story ideas, never hesitate to send them my way. Jsteck@ToledoNewsNow.com
