TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - A man has escaped a house fire in the 400 block of Oakland near Chestnut in north Toledo.

Toledo police say the man was asleep downstairs when the flames broke out on the second floor of the house just after 5 a.m.

A neighbor actually saw the fire and called it in. Police arrived on scene first and got the man out. Firefighters arrived shortly after and were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

Crews believe the fire began in an air conditioning unit in an upstairs room.

No injuries were reported.

A second, unrelated, fire happened in the same neighborhood early Monday. A vacant house fire on Mulberry is believed to be a case of arson. It's the second time in two days that house caught fire.
