MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) – The fun is in full swing at the fair. The Lucas County Fair opened the gates to the public Tuesday morning at the Lucas County Rec Center in Maumee.
At 6 p.m. the fair will have its official opening ceremony. The fair is celebrating its 154th year.
The gates opened to the public at 11 a.m. All visitors receive free admission between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
There is something for everyone, including food, live entertainment, animals, rides, games and more.
People enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of the fair this year said it is a great chance to introduce their little ones to some hands-on fun.
"We're just excited. A lot of these young kids have never seen farm animals, so they don't know what to expect. They're excited to see what rides there are, and just experience the fair," said Nicole Bradley.
The gates close at 10 p.m. Tuesday night. The fair runs through Sunday, July 15.
