TIFFIN, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - A Seneca County Grand Jury returned a 30-count indictment Wednesday against 55-year-old Samuel Christian, M.D.

All of the counts are felonies. They are for various drug trafficking crimes including 24 counts of aggravated drug trafficking, which is a second-degree felony. Also included is one count of  Methadone Treatment License Violation. That is a felony of the fifth degree.

The indictment alleges say Christian was prescribing Methadone and Xanax out of his Tiffin clinic for years without a license to do so.

"A year ago is when they served the search warrant on his office. It's taken this long now to be able to get it put together with the other various agencies," said Frederick Stevens, Interim Tiffin Police Chief.

The investigation was conducted by the Seneca County Task Force - METRICH Enforcement Unit,  the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy Office, and the Ohio State Medical Board.

Christian was released on a $100,000 bond and is currently under house arrest.
