
ERIE, MI (Press Release) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is reporting an attempted murder/armed robbery/home invasion in the 8000 block of Suder Avenue in Erie Township.
This incident occurred on 07/14/2012 at approximately 9:00 PM. Deputies were called to the venue after the home owner was assaulted by an intruder armed with a blunt object.
The victim suffered injuries to his head, neck, and rib areas. The homeowner was treated at St V's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
The offender fled the house in the homeowner's vehicle, which was recovered a short distance away by Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies. In addition to the homeowner's vehicle being stolen, the offender also stole United States currency.
It is believed the white male offender had a black male accomplice, who picked him up after abandoning the victim's vehicle. The black male was seen operating an older blue Chevrolet or GMC truck with a gray or silver stripe along the bottom southbound on Suder Avenue towards Toledo, Ohio. There were possible lawn mowers in the bed of this truck.
The white male offender is described as being approximately 25 to 30 years of age, with short brown hair. The white male offender was approximately 6'5" in weight and was slender yet muscular. The offender was wearing a white tank top, blue jean cut off shorts, and tennis shoes.
The black male driver is estimated to be about 30 years of age with a slender build.
