By Wood County Commissioner Tim Brown
BOWLING GREEN, OH (Editorial) - Wood County, in spite of one of the most difficult economies in our country's history – continues to attract private investment in jobs.
Over 400 million dollars in job growth has occurred in the past few years alone, and throughout Wood County. Examples like the Wood County hospitals $42 million expansion, First Solar's $135 million expansion, and CSX's $175 million facility – have resulted in hundreds of new jobs for area citizens. And while it has been my pleasure to work with each of these companies, it is officials in our local communities who deserve the credit for working as a team – to collectively move this economy forward.
This recession has been challenging and there is much work to be done in turning things around – but Wood County and our region will continue to benefit from job growth – by promoting our regions many assets and working together as a team.
