(Toledo News Now) – Near and far, President Obama wants the country to remember the victims from a Colorado shooting and released a special order Friday.
President Obama is ordering all flags at public buildings to be flown at half-staff. The order goes into effect immediately and lasts through Sunday.
Obama says it is a mark of respect for victims after a 24-year-old went on a shooting spree killing at least 12 people and injuring nearly 60 more at the premiere of Dark Knight Rises in a movie theater in Aurora, CO.
Buildings include:
- Public buildings
- The White House
- Military posts
- Naval stations
The president called the shooting a "senseless act of violence" and led a moment of silence for the victims in a speech Friday morning.
