1 pedestrian killed on Miami Street

EAST TOLEDO, OH  (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - One pedestrian was killed and another was injured when a Chevy Trailblazer was heading eastbound on Miami Street and drove off the road onto the sidewalk. The vehicle then struck a fire hydrant and two women before ending up in front of the Day's Inn on Miami.

This happened around 8:20 last night just down the street from the new Hollywood Casino.

There was a group of four, two men and two women, were walking westbound from the Day's Inn.

The Chevy was driven by Michael Yates, 41 of Toledo. He was taken to St. V's by ambulance where he was admitted in stable condition.

Stefanie Arnold, 27 of Painesville, Ohio was pronounced dead on the scene.

Chelsea Skoch, 23 of Madison, Ohio was taken to St. V's by Life Squad and admitted with critical multiple traumatic injuries.

The incident remains under investigation with the Toledo Police Department.
