The driver of a Chevrolet Impala ran through a stop sign at SR 576 and CR-R, striking a pickup truck. Both vehicles tumbled into a field, but the crash killed the driver of the truck.
PIONEER, OH (Toledo News Now) - Williams County deputies have confirmed a fatal crash in Williams County at State Route 576 and County Road R, near Lake Seneca.
Shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Marvin Brown, 81, of Camden, MI, was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup truck southbound on SR 576 at CR-R when Laura Starrett, 39, of Bryan, OH, was driving her Chevrolet Impala westbound on CR-R and drove through a stop sign, striking Brown. Both vehicles tumbled into a field where the truck flipped over.
Pioneer Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and utilized hydraulic cutting tools to extricate the people involved.
Marvin Brown and his passenger, Vina Brown, 74, were transported to a local hospital where Marvin Brown was pronounced dead. Vina Brown was then transferred to a Toledo hospital via Life Flight.
Starrett and her passenger, Camie Starrett, 15, were both flown from the scene via Life Flight to a Toledo Hospital.
All three survivors of the crash are facing life-threatening injuries.
The investigation continues and charges are pending.
