
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Unemployment increased in metro Toledo last month, jumping rates in the city of Toledo to 9 percent.
Figures released Tuesday from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services show the jobless rate for Lucas County rose in June to 8.3 percent, up from 7.8 percent in May. It was still well below the June 2011 rate of 10.4 percent.

The unemployment rate in June also rose in several other northwest Ohio counties.
The statewide rate, released last week, dipped to 7.2 percent in June from 7.3 percent in May. The national rate, released more than two weeks ago, was unchanged at 8.2 percent.
