The recent editorial on EOPA and the Local Head Start Program generated quite a few responses.
People seem to share my concern with accountability and the lack of EOPA record -keeping for the past 25 years.
Here is a sample of what viewers had to say:
Mike wants better record keeping, he said : "many social service programs in Toledo should be requested to be as accountable"
Dikazi said : "The other candidate for the money is TPS, who I fear is just looking for additional money…they have their hands full with the public schools."
Gabriele had children who participate in a California Head Start program. She was not overly impressed with the experience and is concerned with the lack of accountability for tax payer monies. She said "the reading was OK but not at a level you would expect…talk about tossing around our tax dollars!"
Larry was very concerned about any future involvement from TPS with Head Start. He said: "Let's get real. Would the Head Start Program be better managed by TPS?"
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Nobody from EOPA has responded to me. I did offer them an opportunity to do an editorial. It would be nice to hear what they are thinking.
