TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Police are investigating what they believe to be several suspicious fires around the city of Toledo in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Investigators have reason to believe a fire was intentionally set at a home on Buckingham in central Toledo. Investigators say there was a fire that was started in the front and back of the home, which are common elements of arson.
The front of the home was engulfed in flames when crews arrived on the scene.
The homeowners are out of town, and police say they believe someone went in through the front door and started the two separate fires.
Another fire was started at a house on Lincoln. An arson investigator will be investigating that home.
A home on Mettler is considered a total loss due to what fire crews have confirmed is also a suspicious fire. Arson investigators will also be on the scene of that home at some point on Sunday.
Two more fires took place in the area early Sunday morning.
