TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo police say Corey Layson of Toledo was traveling 132 mph when he lost control of his motorcycle on I-475 eastbound.

It happened near the ProMedica Parkway exit around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Another driver, Mark Cameron, observed the crash and stopped his car on the highway with its flashers on. He positioned the car behind Layson, hoping to shield him from getting hit by a car coming onto the scene.

As Cameron was stopping, his vehicle was struck in the back by Christopher Bauer who was also driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Both motorcyclists were injured and taken to area hospitals. According to police, Layson sustained only minor injuries including bruises and cuts. Bauer sustained broken bones in his right leg.

The eastbound lanes of I-475 were closed for about three hours.

There were no arrests made. Toledo police have not yet commented on any possible citations or charges.

Second crash in west Toledo

While crews cleaned up that wreck, another motorcycle rider was hurt in a crash at Lewis and Laskey in west Toledo.

Police say the rider of a Harley Davidson was thrown into the air when his bike collided with a Kia. He was not wearing a helmet.

Emergency crews rushed him to the hospital with head injuries.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
