Suspect drives tractor through Vermont police lot, destroys 8 cars

NEWPORT, VT. (Toledo News Now) - Several police cars were seriously damaged Thursday when police say a man driving a farm tractor ran the cars over.

An Orleans County, Vermont Sheriff's Deputy received a 911 call around 12:40 p.m. Thursday saying someone driving a large piece of farm equipment was driving over police cars in the parking lot.

Police say 8 cruisers were damaged in total, including a van used to transport inmates.

One person was taken into custody.
