The vehicle rolled over and was heavily damaged. It broke through a guard rail and went into a ditch.
Maumee Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were both on the scene.
Police have not yet released details of the crash, including how many people were in the car and what the extent of any injuries may be, but only one vehicle was involved.
At least one person was taken to the hospital.
Traffic was slow in the area, but the Turnpike was never closed.
