Family Dollar on Sylvania has been robbed three times in the last month and a half.TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – A Toledo store is robbed at gunpoint for the third time in the last month and a half. Police are still looking for whoever is responsible.
The latest robbery happened Saturday night at the Family Dollar on Sylvania. Police say the suspect description is similar in each case, but police cannot say for sure that it is the same person. However, the robber, or robbers, appear to be familiar with the store's procedures and police say it's likely they are connected.
The string of robberies began at the end of June when the robber flashed a gun at the clerk. The same thing happened July 11, then again Saturday.
All the robberies have happened between 9 and 10 at night. It appears the suspect knows what he is doing, based on his directions to the store employee.
Customers who live in the neighborhood are scared and waiting as police continue to search for a suspect.
"Sure it worries you. You don't want to go out and shop in the dark. It happens all around. This neighborhood's getting worse," said Cindy Forbes, a Family Dollar customer.
Anyone with information can call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111. Police say the suspect could live in the neighborhood where the robberies have happened.
