Na Yeon Choi got a birdie on hole 9.SYLVANIA, OH ( Toledo News Now) – The first round of the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic began Thursday morning at Highland Meadows.
Sylvania has been hosting the LPGA tournament since 1984, thanks to Toledo's own Jamie Farr. Its mission is to raise money for the children's charities of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, while also hosting some of the world's best lady golfers.
On the leader board early Thursday, many golfers came in under par with numerous birdies, but the weather did affect afternoon scores.
Although threatening clouds hovered over Highland Meadows, there was no rain all morning. Still, there was a good hour of rain in the afternoon to slow down the tournament.
