TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – Toledo Police are investigating multiple robberies at a Family Dollar in west Toledo.

The Family Dollar, located on West Sylvania Avenue, has been robbed three times in the last six weeks. The most recent was Aug. 4 around 9:30 p.m.

The store manager and an employee were working that night when the suspect entered the store and told the manager, "This is a robbery." The suspect lifted his shirt bottom to reveal the handle of a handgun. He was hiding his face with his shirt.

The suspect then asked, "Who has the keys? Who has the safe code?" The manager responded that she had both and was forced to enter the safe combination.

As the suspect waited for the 10-minute time lock, he had the manager unlock the register drawers. He tried to conceal himself behind stacked inventory during the wait.

After the safe opened, the suspect took the contents, which included cash, along with cash from the drawers and ran out of the store heading south on Drexel Drive.

The suspect is described as a black male with brown eyes and black hair, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt with a white hat, white shoes and blue jean shorts.

Anyone who can identify this suspect, or who has information on any of the other robberies, can contact CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
