FREMONT, OH (Toledo News Now) - After customers say they found glass in cookies purchased at the Fremont Walmart Monday the company says the cookies in question have been removed from store shelves.
Michele Seaman and Amber Decoursey bought the same Great Value chocolate chip cookies from the same store, two days apart and both found glass in them.
Seaman cut her mouth while eating the cookies and talked with the safety director of Great Value. They are sending a $30 Walmart gift card but Seaman says the gift card will not cover her losses which included a doctor's visit and prescription.
Walmart representatives said they did not have Decourseys' contact information and it would be a couple of days before her questions are answered. Decoursey lost a filling from the glass.
"Are they going to contact me? Are they going to offer to fix for my tooth? Are they going to take them all off the shelf? Examine the cookies, maybe there's more out there but they're not telling me anything," said Decoursey.
Walmart says they are working with the manufacturer of the cookies to find out what happened. Seaman and Decoursey said they are done shopping at Walmart.
