NASCAR makes pit stop in Toledo Aug. 13, 14

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – Matt Kenseth's No. 17 NASCAR show car will make a pit stop in Toledo before the big race weekend at Michigan International Speedway Monday and Tuesday.

Kenseth is winner of the 2012 Daytona 500. Kenseth's No. 17 Fifth Third Bank Ford Fusion will visit Toledo for a free two-day public viewing Aug. 13 and 14 at the following locations:

  • Aug. 13 - Fifth Third Field from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 14 - Fifth Third Bank at Byrne and Glendale from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Aug. 14 - Fifth Third Bank at 3355 Secor Road from 4 to 6 p.m.

Fifth Third Bank will also have a NASCAR simulator and prize giveaways during the tour.  

In May, Fifth Third Bancorp announced a multiyear marketing partnership with Roush Fenway Racing. The partnership starts this season with four races as the primary sponsor of Kenseth's car in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. 

The Fifth Third sponsored races included:

  • Sprint All Star Race in Charlotte, NC May 19
  • Quaker State 400 in Sparta, KY June 30
  • Crown Royal's "Your Hero's Name Here" Race in Indianapolis, IN July 29

Fifth Third will also sponsor the upcoming race:

  • Pure Michigan 400 in Brooklyn, MI August 19
