Chrysler is now accepting applications for more than 1,000 jobs at its Toledo Assembly Complex.
The car maker will hire 1,105 hourly workers. The new employees will start at $15.78 per hour. Most of the new positions will be working in the plant's body shop.
The plant will produce its last Jeep Liberty this Thursday, and then begin work to prepare the plant to make test vehicles for the new Jeep vehicle. Specific information about the vehicle that will be made there has not been released, but the new Jeep product is expected to be available beginning in December.
"The plant will have the capability to handle more products, depends on the market for the car will build and like Sergio said if this car's everything we expect it to be we may need only one car," said UAW Jeep Unit Chairman Dan Henneman.
