The U.S. Department of Education announced today a $56,000 Project School Emergency Response to Violence (Project SERV) Immediate Services grant awarded to Chardon Local Schools in Chardon, Ohio, to support recovery efforts following a shooting at Chardon High School earlier this year that resulted in the death of three students and injury of three others. GEAUGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -
A Judge has ruled TJ Lane will be moved to an adult detention facility.
Lane has admitted to the February 27 shooting at Chardon High School, but offered no motive. 17-year-old Russell King, Jr., 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor and 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin were killed. 17-year-old Nick Walczak remains paralyzed from the waist down. 18-year-old Joy Rickers and a 6th, unidentified victim were treated and released from the hospital.
TJ Lane will be transferred to the Geauga County Safety Center on Monday, September 24. Lane's 18th birthday is September 19.
His next pre-trial is November 19 and his trial is set for November 26.
