OREGON, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - We've had several calls asking about smoke and fire seen at Toledo Refining in Oregon.
A spokesperson for the company says it is not a fire at the plant. They experienced a brief power interruption Tuesday morning. This caused an interruption to the refining process and a fail-safe system to kick in. Materials then flooded into the emergency waste stack and began burning off.
The refinery has notified the EPA about the release.
