ROSSFORD, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Toledo Area Humane Society is holding a mega adoption event this weekend. It will be the first chance to adopt the Chihuahuas and Shar-Pays from last weeks puppy mill raid.
From 12 p.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, multiple groups along with the Toledo Area Humane Society will have animals in need of a home at the Rossford PetSmart along Route 20.

The nation challenge lasts from August 1 to October 31. In that time the Toledo Area Humane Society hopes to adopt out 878 animals.
"This is all about saving lives, if we can get 200 animals into homes this weekend, that'll just be great. I want to see a lot smiling faces and wagging tails tomorrow," said John Dinnon, Executive Director if the Toledo Area Humane Society.
If this weekend's event is successful, there will be another mega adoption event at the Westfield Franklin Park Mall on October 5 and 6.
