(Toledo News Now) - President Barack Obama will attend Labor Day events in Toledo on Monday. After his visit to the Glass City, he will head to Louisiana to meet with local officials and view ongoing response and recovery efforts to Hurricane Isaac.
Air Force One is scheduled to land at Toledo Express Airport at 6:50 p.m. Sunday.
President Obama will speak at the UAW Labor Day Celebration at Scott High School on Collingwood Boulevard Monday. The event is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. with doors opening at 10:30 a.m.
Tickets are available to attend the event for free and can be picked up at UAW Local 12 on Ashland Avenue in central Toledo and UAW Local 14 on Jackman Road in west Toledo Friday from noon to 6 p.m. They are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis and are limited per person. UAW Local 14 is limiting distribution to UAW members only at this time.
More tickets are expected to be available at the local Obama campaign office on Ontario, but it is unknown when that will happen.
Other stops for the president in Toledo have not been announced by the campaign.
It's a busy weekend for the Buckeye State as it proves once again to be a key state in the election for both campaigns. Joe Biden is visiting Lordstown on Friday, and Mitt Romney will be in Cincinnati on Saturday.
President Obama's stop in Toledo is part of his campaign's "Road to Charlotte" tour, which will end in Norfolk, VA, on Tuesday. Obama will then head to Charlotte, NC, to accept the Democratic Party's nomination for reelection as president at the Democratic National Convention.
Obama will start the tour in Moines, IA, on Saturday, then travel to Sioux City, IA. On Sunday he will campaign in Boulder, CO, before traveling to Toledo.
Vice President Joe Biden will visit York, PA, and Green Bay, WI, as part of the tour before visiting Detroit, MI, on Monday.
