TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A third University of Toledo Medical Center employee has been placed on paid administrative leave after the hospital botched a living donor kidney transplant earlier this month.

Last week, UTMC announced two nurses had been placed on paid leave after a kidney was rendered unusable by human error during a living donor transplant on August 10.  UTMC also suspended living kidney donor transplant services in order to review the program's procedures after the mistake.

In a letter dated August 28, UTMC placed Administrator of Surgical Services Edwin Hall on a paid administrative leave.  The letter states Hall was informed of the leave verbally on Tuesday, August 27.

As Administrator of Surgical Services, Hall oversees management, hiring and training of operating room employees.

Hall declined to comment to Toledo News Now Wednesday.
