Findlay homeless shelter planning expansion

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - The City Mission in Findlay is getting a 2.7 million dollar renovation for Hancock County's only emergency homeless shelter.

The mission is fairly small with about 35 beds available for families to use. The renovation plans shows an expansion that will feature 80 beds and a dining room to seat 100 people.

"We're at the point now where we have 35 beds but forty fifty people a night coming to the mission so we need to expand to meet this growing need," said Daniel Hicks, Executive Director of the City Mission.

The plan is to expand in the current location. The new addition will add 18,000 square feet. Thus far the mission has raised $400,000 dollars.
