(Toledo News Now) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be hiring hundreds of new recruits over the next few months.
OSHP plans on recruiting 200 troopers between now and next spring. It is looking to hire all across the state.
Those applying must be an Ohio resident between the ages of 20 and 34 and have no more than six points on a driver's license.
The application process takes about two months to complete. After that, applicants must finish nearly five months of academy training.
Eight troopers, specialized in certain areas of the state, are available for more information on recruitment.
"Stop at a patrol. Talk to a trooper. Find out the job and the life because it's certain not for everybody, but it's a good career," said Staff Lt. Gene Smith.
