SANDUSKY, OH (Toledo News Now) - An arrest has been made in a triple homicide that occurred in Sandusky over the weekend.
Curtis Clinton, 41, has been arrested by police and faces three counts of aggravated murder. He has also been charged with rape from earlier last week in an unrelated incident.
Heather Jackson, 23, was found dead inside the home Saturday night, along with her 3-year-old daughter, Celina, and 18-month-old son, Wayne. Jackson's mother called police to check on their safety after not hearing from her that day.
The apparent cause of death to all three individuals is strangulation.
Police say Clinton is an acquaintance but have not gone into further detail, however, they do believe he was invited into the home. The victim's family says they do not know the suspect and are outraged.
Investigators still do not know the motive.
Clinton was incarcerated in the Erie County Jail. He will be arraigned Tuesday morning at 9 in Erie County.
The Erie County prosecutor says a special grand jury will convene next week and consider the death penalty.
Clinton was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 1999 in Wood County.
A memorial has been set up at the house where the victims lived in the 700 block of John Street.
