TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A man accused of stabbing his wife to death in Toledo earlier this year could soon learn his fate. Deliberations are under way.
Currently, the jury is behind closed doors trying to decide how Charles Toyer, 21, is guilty.
Prosecutors say he stabbed his wife, Tiffany Wilborn, 23, back in March. Toyer says they got into an argument and she walked into the knife. Emergency crews were called to the home in the 1500 block of Western. Wilborn was rushed to the hospital where she died.
Records show there had been a history of domestic violence between the two.
The jury will decide what is next for Toyer. If found guilty there are two options: murder or voluntary manslaughter. If found guilty of murder, Toyer could face life in prison.
Toyer's trial started Tuesday and closing arguments wrapped up Thursday.
