Just hours after his opponent, President Barack Obama, spoke in Bowling Green Republican Nominee Mitt Romney spoke to a crowd at the SeaGate Centre in downtown Toledo.
Romney promised to keep America strong, both at home an abroad. He also said America would again be respected to world over with him as President.
The centerpiece of Romney's bid for President has been his economic plan, and the former Massachusetts Governor laid out that plan in five areas. First, Romney said, America must take full advantage of its coal, oil and natural gas recourses in order to gain energy independence. Romney also said his economic plan would center on trade, job training and reduction of the deficit and national debt. Finally, he promised a Romney administration would champion small business.
Romney said President Obama has failed to do those things, and that he would in order to move America towards economic recovery.
Romney spoke for about 25 minutes to the enthusiastic, standing room only crowd.
