SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - Sylvania Township Police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing woman.

Police say Catherine Sackrider, 59, was last seen leaving a home in Sylvania Township around 7 p.m. on September 18.  Sackrider is 5' 5" tall, weighs about 150 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes.

"My only thought is that somebody else had to get involved because it's not like her to just walk away," said daughter Lisa Blanton.

Sackrider is a Sylvania native but now lives in Indiana. Sackrider was in town visiting her daughter and grandkids.

"We drove, my husband drove that Monday night at like midnight from here to Indiana thinking she was in a ditch somewhere you know. I called the highway patrol, and we called the hospitals and stopped at the police departments from here to there and we just thought you know, something happened to her on the way home and, but we, we couldn't find her," said Blanton.

Sackrider's vehicle was discovered abandoned at Whetstone Park in Sylvania Tuesday. Police said they found her purse and a picture of her husband inside the car.  Police are considering Sackrider's disappearance as suspicious.

"I just hope they find who had her, or who has her or where she is. If she went somewhere on her own free will, where did she go? If somebody did something to her who it was?," said Blanton.

Flyers have been posted around the park where her truck was found at, as well as around Sylvania, and Sylvania Township.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call Sylvania Township Police at 419-882-2055.
