The U.S. Department of Education announced today a $56,000 Project School Emergency Response to Violence (Project SERV) Immediate Services grant awarded to Chardon Local Schools in Chardon, Ohio, to support recovery efforts following a shooting at Chardon High School earlier this year that resulted in the death of three students and injury of three others. CHARDON, OH (WOIO) -
Ian Friedman, T. J. Lane's attorney entered a not guilty by reason of insanity plea on his behalf Monday.
The accused Chardon High School shooter was moved to an adult facility on September 24th. He's now being held at the Geauga County Safety Center.
Lane is charged with the February 2012 shooting and killing of three classmates: Daniel Parmertor, 16, Demetrius Hewlin, 17, and Russell King, Jr., 17. Three others Joy Rickers, Nick Walczak, and Nate Mueller were injured in the shootings.
Lane just turned 18, he was 17 at the time of the crimes.
