Toledo Police are looking for three men they say entered a Toledo Public High School building and assaulted a student.
Police say around 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, a 15-year-old Scott High School student left class and let the three men inside the building. Once inside, the suspected members of the Manor Boys Gang, associated with the Bloods, went into a classroom and assaulted a student. A teacher intervened, ordering the men to leave the building. The three suspects, along with the student who let them in then left the building after threatening to assault the teacher as well.
TPS officials say there are 8 hall monitors in the building in addition to the Toledo Police School Resource Officer. All exterior doors to the school are kept locked to the outside, and guests are required to sign in. Police say the student who let the three men inside the school is now in custody.
Community members question how gang members could get inside of a school.
"It needs to be monitored more closely. The doors need to be monitored. If this could happen a few days ago, what's going to stop it from happening tomorrow, or next week? This has to be addressed someone has to be held accountable for this," said Gordon Whittington.
