WILLISTON, OH (Toledo News Now) - An 81-year-old Ottawa County woman was lucky to be in another portion of her home Monday afternoon when a large dump truck left the road and crashed into her house.
Police say the truck, driven by 59-year-old John Branski, left State Route 579 just before noon Monday, drove across the woman's yard and crashed into her house. She was not hurt, Branski was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
It is unclear what caused the truck to leave the roadway and crash into the home. Ohio State Highway Patrol closed State round 579 for about three hours Monday afternoon to investigate. Officials say that investigation is still ongoing, and that no one has been cited.
