
DELAWARE TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - One person is dead and two are left injured after a single-vehicle crash in Defiance County Monday afternoon.
Just before 4 p.m. Monday, Thomas Webb Jr., 32, of Napoleon, was driving a Ford Escort on Buckskin Road near Flickinger Road in Delaware Township, approximately five miles northwest of Defiance.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Webb was eastbound on Buckskin at a high rate of speed when he drove off the left side of the roadway striking a ditch. The car then overturned and struck a utility pole.
Webb was pronounced dead at the scene by Defiance County Coroner Dr. Brose.
There were two passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash: Amanda Webb, 32, and Thomas Webb III, 3. They were both taken to a Toledo hospital by LifeFlight with non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle sustained heavy damage.
The crash remains under investigation.
