TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - An employee with the City of Toledo's Division of Water Distribution has been suspended without pay, accused of theft on the job.
Documents obtained from the city reveal John Morin, a Senior Storekeeper, was suspended On September 28.
The case centers around accusations of taking materials from the Water Distribution center on Erie Street. Information provided by the city shows Morin was hired in January, 1998, and is a member of AFSCME Local 7.
City documents say his suspension is based on allegations of actions taken in August and September of this year. 7 administrative charges include: theft of city time, theft of city funds, theft of city property, theft in office, gross misconduct, personal use of city equipment, unauthorized break.
Toledo Police say the allegations are plumbing and piping materials were taken from the city building, and a criminal investigation is being conducted separate from the administrative investigation.
A return to work hearing was held on October 1, and it was determined during that hearing he should remain off work until a disciplinary hearing takes place October 25.
