The Arlington School District posted a letter on its website Thursday reminding parents and students of a "Stranger Danger Alert" issued last week.
In the letter, the district says the Hancock County Sheriff's Department is following up on a possible lead in the case, but that students should remain vigilant when walking to and from school.
Last week, officials say a man was attempting to lure children into his vehicle as the walked to and from school.
The suspicious man is described as between 50 and 70 years old with a gray stubble goatee and is missing several teeth. He was driving an older model red car.
Students are advised to walk in groups to and from school, and to report any suspicious activity to teachers, principals and the police. The Sheriff's Office will also continue increased patrols around the school before and after school hours.
The letter also addresses a rumor that the suspect was arrested at the Arlington football game on Friday. The letter says that is not the case.
