NORTH BALTIMORE, OH (Toledo News Now) - A group in North Baltimore has re-planned a charity event to take place this weekend. The North Baltimore Fraternal Order of Eagles said this event is for a legitimate cause.
The order was originally co-planning an event to be held this Saturday for Kimberly Gustwiller.
Gustwiller was arrested at the end of September for allegedly lying about having cancer and wrongfully collecting donations.
The group had to re-plan everything and find someone or a group to donate the proceeds to. The order has picked a new beneficiary but it remains anonymous until the end of the event.
The event has the potential to raise anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000.
"In a small town, everybody knows everybody and everybody is always here to help in one way or another. A small town crisis seems to bring people together. That's one of the beautiful things about living in North Baltimore, is the closeness that we have here. Just all in all, it's going to be a good time. A lot of smiling faces is what's going to be here," said Gary Bretz with the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
The event starts at 4p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall in North Baltimore. It will be complete with a fish fry, a 50/50 raffle, and live music.
