TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A man is in the hospital after being hit by a car in the middle of Summit Street near Chicago Street in north Toledo.

Police say Robert Jones, 48, of Gibsonburg, was critically injured after trying to cross the street.

According to police, Jones was trying to cross Summit and stopped at the center line to wait for northbound traffic to clear so he could finish crossing. A car headed southbound, driven by Shaneka Morales, 20, of Toledo, hit him.

No word if charges will be filed yet.
