MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) - A soft opening was held Wednesday for Degage Express. This is an extension of the Degage Jazz Café but the restaurant uses the farm to table concept.
Head Chef Joseph Jacobsen said every item will come from within 100 miles of their location, most from within 30 miles.
Jacobsen said it is good for the environment because the food does not have to travel as far. It is good for the local economy because most of the money stays here.
"I feel like people are used to eating the same old thing in this area. I'm trying to expand people's minds, and also getting everything locally, we're keeping all our money in the community," said Jacobsen.
Degage Express will be open from 11a.m-7p.m. Monday through Friday.
