TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Crews are still battling a stubborn fire at Stickney Recycling Plant on Creekside near Lagrange.
The call came in around 5 a.m. at the plant in an industrial area of north Toledo. No injuries are reported.
The Environmental Protection Agency has been called because the plant takes construction materials like asbestos and tires.
Crews say they plan to let the fire burn itself out, which may take a few days.
"Historically, we've had these types of fires before that went on for days, and days, and days. They are very difficult. It's not a major fire, but it is a very difficult fire, and so when you add a fire like this into a usual workload for Toledo Fire and Rescue, it just add complications to the day," said Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
