(Toledo News Now) – With Hurricane Sandy making its way up the coast, ISOH/IMPACT and its team of partners and volunteers are making necessary preparations for quick disaster relief. Already, 44,000 pounds of materials and supplies have been shipped out, but more supplies are needed to help all of those affected.
People can help by making a cash donation to ISOH/IMPACT's disaster relief fund, joining the ISOH/IMPACT Bucket Brigade, or volunteering at the distribution center in Waterville, OH.
To be a part of the Bucket Brigade, simply fill a new 5-gallon lidded bucket with cleaning supplies, personal care items, first aid supplies, pet supplies or canned and nonperishable food items. Buckets can be dropped off at the nearest collection site. Anyone who would like to participate in the Bucket Brigade but cannot fill a bucket, a donation of $35 or more will allow ISOH/IMPACT to fill, ship and distribute a bucket of relief supplies to those in need. Learn more about ISOH/IMPACT's Bucket Brigade, including how to pack a bucket.
Supplies that are not in buckets, including tarps, blankets, sleeping bags, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, bottled water, brooms, mops, rakes, shovels, box fans, shop vacs and portable generators, will also be accepted. With this particular storm and the possibility it will bring an early snow to the area, snow shovels will also be accepted. Please do not donate glass items or clothing.

"I know it's been a rough year. I know it's an election year. But I know there's 55 million people that are going to be affected, and if everybody does their part, we're going to make a difference. And we have been making differences," said Lisa Greene with ISOH/IMPACT.
