
FREMONT, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Three teens were injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Riley Township.
It happened at 11:20 p.m. on Township Road 220 just south of State Route 412. Investigators say speed was a factor in the crash.
Police say 19-year-old Jonathan Tipton, of Clyde, was driving and failed to negotiate a curve. The 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix left the roadway and struck a tree.
Tipton was seriously injured and flown by air ambulance to a Toledo-area hospital. He was not wearing a safety belt.
The right front passenger is identified as 19-year-old Attiah Fogle, of North Canton, OH. She was also seriously injured and flown to Toledo. Troopers say she was wearing a safety belt.
The left rear occupant is identified as 19-yer-old Dustin JE Waugh, of Chillicothe, OH. He sustained minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital. He was also wearing a safety belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
