Ice believed a factor in Putnam Co. fatal crash

KALIDA, OH (Toledo News Now) - At approximately 8:24 a.m. Tuesday, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a crash on state Route 115 just north of state Route 694.

Dustin Brown, 22, of Bluffton, was driving northbound and went left of center. He was struck by a van pulling a construction trailer.

The driver of the van, Gregory Bowers, 41, of Stryker, and his passenger sustained minor injuries. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ice on a bridge is believed to be a contributing factor.

This is Putnam County's second fatality in 2012.
