TPS to announce savings for taxpayers - ToledoNewsNow.com: News, Weather & Sports for Toledo, OH

TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Officials from Toledo Public Schools will hold a news conference Wednesday morning to announce the outcome of a recent bond refunding.

More than $34 million in bonds were refunded. Officials say that's a $5.2 million savings to tax payers.

TPS does not receive a savings from the refunds. They say the savings are directly credited to tax payers.

It's the second time this year TPS has refinanced bonds.

A news conference is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Wednesday to further discuss the announcement.
