BP agent arrested on suspicion of smuggling drugs

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A border patrol agent is under arrest on suspicion of smuggling drugs.

A criminal complaint says Agent Aaron Anaya loaded bales of marijuana into his patrol car Sunday, after smugglers dropped them over the border fence in Southwest Arizona.

FBI agents were watching him at the time.

The complaint says the agent was later arrested with nearly 147 pounds of marijuana.
