SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -
According to our media partner Masslive and The Republican, there is some controversy surrounding the owner of the strip club at the center of the Springfield gas explosion.
According to a lawyer for Russell Shaddock, the owner of Scores Gentleman's Club, the city sent him a letter threatening fines and jail time for noncompliance.
The city says Shaddock is the only building owner who hasn't made contact with them over debris removal.
The city has footed the bill to clean up the area but doesn't plan to do anymore.
Shaddock's lawyer says his client has been negotiating with Columbia gas and doesn't plan to abandon the site.
