HENRY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) – Damascus Township firefighters are looking for the suspect responsible for stealing one of their jaws of life tools.

The tool is used to cut metal to rescue people from car accidents.

"This was taken from inside the department," explained Sheriff Michael Bodenbender. "They were at a fire or something, that's when they feel it was taken."

Thankfully the missing tool is just the back-up set, but news of the theft was still startling and upsetting to people in the area.

"Shame on them," said resident Cindy Christy. "It saves lives and it makes the jobs of our medical personnel…easier, and their job is hard enough as it is."

Anyone with information on the missing tool should contact the Henry County Sheriff's Office at 419-592-8010.
