Victim of Longview fire identified

An elderly man died in a house fire on Thursday in the 500 block of Idylwood Drive in Longview.

The body of Emmit Brook was found in a bedroom in the house. Investigators determined the cause of the fire was an overloaded electrical plug in the bedroom wall. Multiple electrical devices, including a space heater, were found plugged into the outlet.
